3rd annual CameraWorks exhibition will be juried by Harvey Stein of International center of Photography, School of Visual Arts and Umbrella Arts Gallery. John Kane '76

John Kane's photos helped the Pilobolus Dance Theater web site become
one of five finalist out of hundreds of web site for a 2009 Webby
award for Best use of Photography. Presented this year by David
Bowie, the Webbys are "the internet's highest honor" according to the
New York Times. The Webbys are the Oscars of the internet
I was incredibly happy just to be a finalist" said Kane who works out
of his farm in New Milford where he also hosts the New England
Photographic Workshop. Kane has also, on occasion, taught at WCSU as an adjunct faculty.

John is having the inaugural show at a new gallery in Kent,
CT. It is the annex to the Morrison, so it is important. It is

Call for Artists -Annual Kent Art Association Spring Juried Show

The Gallery at the Kent Art Association invites all representational artists to enter the annual KAA Spring Juried Show, which runs from April 18 until Sunday, June 6. Receiving will take place at The Gallery at the Kent Art Association on Route 7, just south of the monument, Friday, April 16 from 1 pm to 4 pm and Saturday, April 17 from 10 am to 1 pm. $1100 in prizes will be awarded. The judges for the show are Thomas Atkins, Janice Baragwanath and Joel Spector.

The Opening Reception will be on Friday evening April 23 from 5 to 7 pm and the Awards Reception is scheduled for Saturday afternoon April 24 from 2 to 4 pm with awards presented at 3 pm.

Refreshments will be served and the public is invited to attend.
