Christine Hartman

The Bowery Gallery in Chelsea is currently presenting a collection of new paintings by Christine Hartman. For her third solo show at the gallery, Hartman offers detailed still life paintings that illustrate scenes of domestic life and emphasize relationships between vision, nature, and art, very much similar to the style of still lifes by Paul Cezanne almost as though the artist was inspired by the legendary French painter.

The artist's reception on Saturday, April 6 is free and open to the public, 4 pm - 6 pm.

Durante uses ink and collage elements to express his nearly life-long interest in baseball, in particular the characters that inhabit its “cathedrals”, the ball parks. The comic book-influenced, stylized figures convey the attitude and soul of players past and present, real and imaginary.

2013 Open House Day in CT

June 8, 2013 – Connecticut Open House Day

The Connecticut Office of Tourism is sponsoring the 9th annual Connecticut Open House Day on Saturday, June 8th. The one-day statewide event is designed to showcase Connecticut’s diverse world of history, art, and tourism. A great way for residents to discover or rediscover all that is happening in our state. We hope that once Connecticut residents learn about the wealth of treasures in our own backyard, they will share their newly gained appreciation and enthusiasm with visiting family and friends and become Connecticut ambassadors.
