The WCSU 2013 Fall MFA Guest Lecture Program
The 2013 Fall MFA Guest Lecture Program opens with painter Ying Li on Sept. 9 at 11:00 am in Viewing Room #2 in White Hall on the midtown campus.
Born in Beijing, China, in 1951, Ying Li graduated from Anhui Teachers University (1974-77) where she taught 1977-83. She immigrated to the United States in1983. She received an M.F.A. from Parsons School of Design, NY in 1987. She is Professor of Fine Arts and Department Chair, Haverford College. She is represented by Lohin Geduld Gallery, NY. David writes, "One is in Danvers, MA a little North of Boston, another is at the Governor's Mansion sculpture garden in Hartford, I have a couple of pieces in a sculpture Garden in New paltz, New York. I have a scupture in a show on the campus of University of South Dakota and I'm in a show this fall (paintings) at the Limner Gallery outside of Woodstock, New York."

Responsibilities for the Assistant Director
Programming under the direction and supervision of the Director, Quick Center for the Arts, include yearly project management of season planning and artist selection, contract negotiation and management, program budget coordination, collaboration on marketing and sales initiatives, coordination of co-curricular arts and academic interaction, community partnerships and initiatives, and more.
Candidate Background
Preferred candidates have three or more years in arts programming or appropriate and sufficient arts management experience in a dynamic setting so as to program a diverse array of performing arts activities. Master’s degree in the arts preferred, although candidates with a Bachelor’s degree combined with significant and unique experience will be considered, as well.

Small Works Show
On display November 9- January 4To bring in the holiday season, we will be once again having our Small Works Show! Last year we had over 50 artists who participated with over 130 pieces of art on the walls. We had artists of all ages, all mediums, and all subjects, with both 2- and 3-dimensional works, and we hope to do the same again this year!
Submission deadline is November 4
An entry fee of $15 per artist will be collected at time of drop-off
Limit 3 pieces per artist
Maximum size 13"x13" including frame (13" in all directions for 3-dimensional works)

Works should be autumn themed involving seasonal traditions, colors in the family of reds, oranges, and yellows, farming and agriculture, anything reminiscent of the fall season. welcome in this workshop concentrating on sketching the sights of
Central Park. We will sketch in various locations in the park, capturing
impressions of sunlight, weather, and space. Prior experience in
drawing and painting is helpful but not required.
