Schoolhouse Rock Live!, based on the Emmy
Award-winning 1970s Saturday morning cartoon series that taught
history, grammar, math, science and politics through clever,
tuneful songs is now a musical! Tom, a nerve-wracked school
teacher nervous about his first day of teaching, tries to relax
by watching TV when various characters representing facets of
his personality emerge from the set and show him how to win his
students over with imagination and music, featuring songs such
as "Lolly, Lolly, Lolly," I'm Just a Bill," and "Conjunction
Junction!"
Schoolhouse Rock Live! brings its infectious zest to
children of all ages. It is just plain and simple good, clean -
and educational - fun!

Part time opportunity
Joanne Hunter writes, "I have a couple of small part time opportunities for preferably art students."
The Art Spot has been commissioned to do a piece of Public Art in Waterbury - a 900 square foot mosaic tile mural. I am looking for some kids with some aesthetic painting understanding to help transfer the image we have designed onto the substrate boards that will be tiled and then installed. In addition, I may need some bodies to help load and unload and move around some of the materials. We are fabricating the panels with the community up there at the Palace Theater from June 5-14. The prep work I need to hire people for will take place before that, in the next few weeks. Contact Joanne at TheArtSpot@charter.net

Rebecca writes, "I am looking forward to my new venture. For those of you who haven't heard, I will be joining the law offices of Cecilia Buck-Taylor. It is truly an amazing law firm that makes giving back to the community a top priority. Now that I am local, I urge all of my family and friends to contact me with any legal issues. The firm specializes in domestic and family law, real estate, corporate/business, probate, civil litigation, personal injury, criminal and juvenile matters. I am both excited and nervous about going back to work full time, but know that it is whats best for my family. After being home with Leighton for two years, believe me, this is hard. I'm sure I'll cry all the way to work on Friday morning. Wish me luck!!!"

A MARRED GEOMETRY : the grid, the ever present grid – the underlying bones of interior and exterior space and the very structure of our daily life – marred by purpose, marred by process.
Mary Lou Alberetti’s ceramic sculptures draw inspiration from her extensive travels and borrow freely the elements from Moorish and Italian architecture. A timeless quality is generated in each piece through the application of multiple glazes and their subsequent firings in the kiln. The rich surfaces and variegated colors that are produced seem subdued and worn by time and weather. These textures are formed by Alberetti’s masterful understanding of clay, glazes and process and her keen awareness of how time erodes and conditions stone and soil and the hues that color them.
