The Town of Newtown is pleased to present “Horse Drawn Revisited,” a series of drawings executed in charcoal, monochromatic pastel, oil stick and selected burnt sienna wash, by the artist Ival. The show opened April 12 and continues through April 30. A closing reception is scheduled for April 30, Monday, Late Afternoon. Ival will be present at the reception to discuss her work.
Ival writes, "Troopers and now-eleven mounts of the Connecticut Horse Guard stationed in Newtown, provided both the inspiration and a unique artistic challenge."
She adds, "My personal experience as a trooper and troop historian for two years in the Horse Guard provides the underlying narrative informing each drawing."
