Sal writes, "We will be performing The Events at the New York Theatre Workshop on Valentine's Day, 2015. It's a Saturday night. We hope you will join us for this amazing show."
LYSISTRATA CHOIR OF WESTERN CONNECTICUT STATE UNIVERSITY
Sal Trapani DIRECTOR, COMPOSER
Tom Cuffari MUSICAL DIRECTOR...
Pam McDaniel, CHAIR, Dept. of Theatre Arts, Western Connecticut State University
Matt Terzigni STAGE MANAGER
The choir is the cast of Lysistrata - The Disco Vaudeville Rock N Roll Musical an updated version of the satire, with an original score composed by director Sal Trapani. Originally performed at Western and then the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Designed by Emmy-Award winning designer and professor at Western, Elizabeth Popiel. While performing in Edinburgh, we were asked to perform in The Events at the Traverse and did so twice. We performed again when The Events played New Haven last June at the International Festival of Art and Ideas. An amazing experience for us - life changing in so many ways, the experience of being a part of this show has been a gift that has reaffirmed for my students and myself why we do theatre and hope you, too, discover the healing power of theatre.
New York Theatre Workshop is located in the East Village at 79 East 4th Street, between 2nd Avenue and Bowery (Third Avenue).
