Landscapes by Reilly, Day, & Jessel
and Thomas Reilly of Norwalk. This exhibition is a re-examination of traditional subjects in untraditional ways. We are all encompassed by the landscape and the objects of our daily lives. often unappreciated in the rush of a busy day. At the Washington Art Association we can pause, observe and study three different portrayals of the land and objects surrounding us. Isabelle Day focuses on simplifying shapes and using rich color to focus on the essential presence of her subjects. Robert Jessel on the other hand, utilizes patterns and distortions to remove preconceptions of space and push recognition to the limit. Thomas Reilly brings focus to the ordinary, allowing light to clarify and ennoble his landscapes. He treats spaces and places with the care of portraiture. Please join us at the opening reception on Saturday, March 7, from 4 - 6 pm. The exhibition runs from March 7 through March 28. Gallery Hours: Tues. - Sat. 10 am - 5 pm For more information, please contact us either by telephone at 860.868.2878 or by email at washingtonart@snet.net. |
