The
Arts Network of Danbury (AND), a think tank of Danbury area artists, arts and
culture businesses and institutions, invites the public to the closing
reception of their group show at David Boyajian Studio in New Fairfield
Connecticut on Friday, June 22 from 6 to 8pm.
Refreshments will be served and gallery-goers will have a chance to meet
the artists on display.
The
group show opened on June 9 as a part of Greater Danbury Open House Day, the
inaugural community-wide event coordinated by AND. Greater Danbury Open House Day was created as
a part of the eighth annual Open House Day and featured 11 venues in Danbury,
Bethel, and New Fairfield, each offering free or reduced admission,
demonstrations, live music and more. At
the David Boyajian Studio, visitors were able to enjoy the gallery and watch
live bronze casting demos by owner and sculptor, David Boyajian.
"This exhibit highlights many of the artists who
spearheaded the formation of Arts Network of Danbury," said Catherine
Vanaria, AND member, photographer, and co-owner of CT Photograhics in
Danbury. "The diversity of work
expresses the depth of art presently being made in this area, much of which has
had limited exposure."
The
AND group show features 14 artists in a variety of different mediums, including
sculpture, photography, painting, and mixed media. The featured artists are Shona
Curtis (http://www.shonartphotography.com/),
