Jamison Odone MFA '10

Hey folks--
I'll be in the area (up from Maryland)as a guest artist at The Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art this Sunday, 3/24 from 2-5pm, basically making a big drawing for the launch of their Extreme Draw On program. I'm attaching an EXTREMELY rough draft of what I'll be making but it's supposed to be something like 20' long to cover some wall-sized paper and dedicated to a dear departed friend. So--please come out and draw, watch me sink/fail/succeed, see the opening that will be happening inside the museum at the same time, bring Oliver some sort of Spiderman toy, etc.

Extreme Drawing Opening Reception Featuring Six New Exhibitions

Please join us at a reception for Extreme Drawing, a series of exhibitions and programs that investigate the vast creative potential of this universal means of expression. Explore solo projects by Amelie Chabannes, Harry Dodge, Robert Longo, and Jane South; Creative Growth, featuring work by Dan Miller and Judith Scott; and Ballpoint Pen Drawing Since 1950, a group presentation examining the use of an ubiquitous everyday writing tool for art making featuring work by Rita Ackermann, Bill Adams, Alighiero Boetti, Dawn Clements, Russell Crotty, Jan Fabre, Alberto Giacometti, Joanne Greenbaum, Martin Kippenberger, Il Lee, and Toyin Odutola. Extreme Draw On! Program Launch

Featuring A Special Tribute to Maurice Sendak. Get ready to draw on! the walls of The Aldrich and kick off this six-week program that celebrates every aspect of drawing. Team up with artist Jamison Odone and add your artistic mark on a collaborative mural inspired by your favorite Maurice Sendak characters. From March 24 through May 4, Extreme Draw On! offers workshops, classes, events, and activities for all ages at the Museum and in the community.

Admission $10 adults; $5 seniors and students; FREE for members, pre-K–12 teachers, and children 18 and under.
