PACKAGE DESIGNER

Position Summary

Assist in the creation of package designs from initial concepts to final samples.

Package Art:

·         Execute and create package designs

·         Communicate via email to overseas vendors

·         Prep art with product specifications and create mechanicals

·         Create final mockups

·         Prepare and send all production artwork to overseas vendors

Research and Development:

·         Competitive Research: Knowledge of market trends

·         Trends:  Collect information pertinent to project assigned

·         Create style boards based on information gathered

General:

·         Organize and maintain files of all pertinent data, samples, packaging

·         Update and maintain department server

·         Burn CDs and DVDs for image transmission

·         Send out for and manage French translation library

Tracking:

·         From the line initiation through to approved pre production piece, track art out, proofs, and finished art work

·         Track all production artwork

Product Management Assist:

·         Assist in proofreading all back labels and UPC labels

·         General product line management

General Requirements:

·         Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design and/or Art

·         Must identify with commercial nature of product

·         Ability to work under tight deadlines

·         Must be able to recognize color and design trends as well as receive art direction

·         Must have good verbal and written communication skills

Computer Requirements:

·         Adobe Illustrator CS5

·         Adobe Photoshop CS5

·         Microsoft Entourage

·         Word

·         Excel
