WCSU Facebook changes

Please note that the facebook page now is called WCSU art alumni - the big question is, should we have separate for MFA alumni and art alumni? My thoughts are the MFA need the web design/graphic skills of the arts, and everyone benefits from the calls, opportunities and notes.  Comments?

Lori Robeau will be starting an art department page and I will steal any information that will be useful to the alumni - :)

The program allows library patrons to check out artwork, just like books. There is a borrowing fee and other restrictions. I like the program because it’s a way to get original artwork into people’s homes. Three of my paintings were borrowed the first day they were in the program. Sorry to my friends living elsewhere. We’ll have to create an Artothek-like program where you are living!"

Unpaid Internship

Captured Time Productions runs an unpaid internship program that provides skills and experience to aspiring filmmakers. Interns participate in many aspects of filmmaking. Their responsibilities include research, tape logging, digitizing video, basic editing, Avid software maintenance, running errands, and a wide range of skills required in a production office. Interns may also have opportunities to shoot video and assist editors. This program emphasizes skills that are needed in the industry.

Even more than particular skills, the program provides a basic orientation to working in production -- what we refer to as "production thought" and "set etiquette". Captured Time assists its former interns to find Production Assistant and other entry level jobs in the industry.

A high proportion of former Captured Time interns now work professionally in TV, news, movies, industrials, commercials, and other media.

No previous film or video experience is necessary (but it doesn't hurt). Interns must be self-motivated, hard working, and self-disciplined. It helps if they have a sense of fun, love the movies, and really want to do this kind of work.

Interns must commit to a minimum of 2 or 3 days a week for three months. Interns must have reliable transportation. If you are interested in this unpaid position, e-mail (captimepro@gmail.com) us your resume and let us know a little about yourself, your experience, your interests, and your availability.
