Manager of Education Programs and School Initiatives at Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum
The Manager of Education Programs and School Initiatives (Manager) reports to and works closely with the Director of Public Programs and Audience Engagement (Director) to research, develop, implement and assess The Aldrich’s pioneering programs for schools, educators, and the Museum’s adult volunteer docent team.
The Manager will develop innovative strategies for increased service to schools and educators, as well as an annual plan for assessing the short- and long-term impact of The Aldrich’s education programs on students and teachers served. The Manager will be knowledgeable about trends and approaches in the field of museum education and will make recommendations for program change and/or growth to the Director, Executive Director, Board of Directors, and Board Committees as appropriate.

Art Therapist/Teaching Artist
Westport Arts Center seeks a skilled and innovative part-time art educator to deliver art classes and, specifically, therapeutic arts experiences to a wide range of special populations, including children with special needs, seniors, military veterans and hospital patients. This teaching artist will report to the Director of Education, and collaborate with the Westport Arts Center's education department to design, manage, and implement a variety of dynamic art programs and workshops in various settings.
Qualifications: Undergraduate or master’s degree in art education or art therapy. Excellent artistic and professional skills, attention to detail, ability to initiate, implement, and deliver innovative education programs as part of a creative and collaborative team. Arts & Humanities branch of the Regional YMCA of Western CT is seeking professional artists/performing artists/arts educators to teach youth 1 or 2 afternoons per week during the school year. Instructors are needed in our After School Program for middle school students. Instructors may also be needed to teach outreach art programs in local schools or other community based organizations. Areas of instruction needed: pottery, sculpture, wood working, cartooning, drawing & painting, dance and chorus.

David Macharelli
David Macharelli, Class of 1997, is appearing in a local production of William Shakespeare's, "Much Ado About Nothing," at McLaughlin Vineyards in Sandy Hook on Saturday, Aug. 24, at 4 p.m. In addition to his first time as performer, David also handled the scenic and prop art for the show.
