Jill Sarver

Jill Sarver ’10 was able to visit “The Floating Piers” while in Italy. She writes, “Christo himself even made an appearance! Pictures do it little justice. Absolutely magical beyond belief.”

About “The Floating Piers” : For sixteen days – June 18 through July 3, 2016 (weather permitting) – Italy’s Lake Iseo is being reimagined. 100,000 square meters of shimmering yellow fabric, carried by a modular floating dock system of 220,000 high-density polyethylene cubes, undulate with the movement of the waves as The Floating Piers rise just above the surface of the water. The Floating Piers is the latest and last work of artist duo Christo and Jean-Claude. The floating yellow roads extend from the pedestrian streets of Sulzano, connecting the islands of San Paolo and Monte Isola.
